Game developers Banijay Brands and Playtech have linked up this week, with Playtech now able to develop games based on The Million Dollar Drop in the United States for its online casino partners.
The deal also sees Playtech retaining the rights to keep on offering its Deal or No Deal Bingo game. Playtech recently launched live dealer studios in New Jersey and Michigan, and it seems likely that gameshow projects will play prominently into the company's American prospects moving forward. The Million Dollar Drop is internationally known as The Money Drop, and it has regularly proven to be among Playtech's most popular gameshow brands internationally. Both brands are based on popular television gameshows, which have international versions in multiple countries.
Regarding the deal Banijay Brands Commercial Director of Gaming and Gambling Lex Scott said, "Deal or No Deal and The Money Drop are iconic shows with strong fanbases, and we are delighted to see the brands grow into new product verticals. We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Playtech, as an industry-leading supplier, it is well-placed to expand The Money Drop brand into the U.S. market."
Playtech Managing Director of Digital Bingo Angus Nisbet also commented, noting: "We are delighted to renew our long and successful partnership with Banijay. Deal or No Deal Bingo is consistently amongst our top performing Bingo rooms, and we're thrilled to continue to provide our partners and their customers with a truly iconic and entertaining gaming experience."
As of press time there aren't any details on when these games may launch in the US market.
