This week Chile's gaming regulator Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ) has announced that they've seen record gaming revenues from the country, with taxes collected also hitting totals not seen since 2008.
Gross gaming revenue in the state hit CLP$54.9 billion for the month, with all 26 casinos in operation. There were 551,840 gaming venue visitors, and the month was the first that all casinos were open since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tax revenues collected were CLP$16.85 billion, with VAT from gambling coming in at CLP$7.37 billion. Income tax was CLP$1.72 billion.
The best-performing casino was Sun Monticello, as they had to pay CLP$1.07 billion in taxes, while Enjoy Vina del Mar paid CLP$445.5 million, good for second place.
