The state of Mississippi saw $83.5 million bet on sports in October, the highest-ever total reported since the activity went live in October 2019.
Revenues for the sportsbooks in the state were $9.1 million, up 3.4% from last year, and up 3.4% in September. The handle was up 36.4% from last year and was an all-time record, as the $83.5 million easily eclipsed the previous record of $67.7 million.
The NFL served as the most popular sport to have bets placed, as $45.8 million was wagered, generating $4.3 million in revenue.
Casinos in the northern part of the state generated $15.5 million in bets with $1.6 million in revenue. Coastal casinos generated $1.3 million in revenues on $12.9 million in handle.
