Switzerland Blocks 50 Gambling Sites

This story was published more than 1 year ago.

Switzerland's gaming regulator Eidgenössische Spielbankenkommission announced that they've blocked nearly 50 gaming domains after it was determined they were contributed to unlicensed online wagering.

The blockages include 288-563.com, a domain that redirects to popular online group bet365 and joins the list of more than 600 different domains that have been deemed forbidden since 2019.

Among the other names that are also on this latest edition include Wild Tornado, Superbit, Bahigo, and Playamo.

Under Swiss law, the regulator can add sites to the blacklist and compel the country's internet service providers (ISPs) to block the sites. This is the latest attempt to limit the harm of illegal offshore betting while encouraging players to use regulated sites for play.

The Swiss regulations are very strict, so this is not a surprise. But most probably the same brands will just change their domains until they get caught again.
