Svenska Spel Submits Third Quarter Financials

Swedish gaming group Svenska Spel has published its third-quarter financial results, noting that revenues grew 6.7% to SEK1.97 billion during the quarter.

The company's Gross Gaming Sales were SEK4.72 billion, up 5.2% from last year. Winnings paid out were SEK2.75 billion, which was up SEK110 million more than last year.

The Tor lottery generated SEK1.55 billion in revenue, up 2.2% from last year. Sportsbetting and casino revenues were up 7.3% to SEK526 million.

Slot halls and casinos generated SEK292 million, up 64.9% from last year when the halls were largely closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Other sources of income were up 36.8% to SEK52 million.

Expenses were up to SEK375 million, while gaming costs were at SEK259 million. Depreciation and amortisation was SEK92 million.

Operating profit was up 31% to SEK696 million. Net profits were SEK552 million, up 25.1% from last year.

Commenting on the results Svenska Spel CEO Patrik Hofbauer said, "During the third quarter, all our operations were finally up and running again - for the first time in more than fifteen months. With all our operations open, more employees back in our offices and high energy in the organization, the outlook for the entire Swedish gaming sector looks positive."
