American online gaming brand BetMGM announced today that they're partnering with the Puyallup Tribe of Indians to launch a retail sportsbook at Emerald Queen Casino in Washington.
The book will launch at the Tacoma, Washington and Fife, Washington locations. The activity was effectively legalized in the state after the US Department of the Interior approved of the activity on Native American casinos. The books will allow for punters at the casinos to bet on a variety of sports throughout the globe, including football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and more.
Washington State is home to the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL, Seattle Mariners of the MLB, and the Seattle Kraken of the NHL. The Kraken are slated to launch their initial season on October 12th when they play the Vegas Golden Nights in Las Vegas.
Regarding the deal, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said, "Today's announcement marks another key moment in the expansion of BetMGM as we extend our western footprint into Washington.
"The Puyallup Tribe and Emerald Queen Casino are ideal partners for us as they represent the same high-level of service, amenities and experiences that is built into our DNA at BetMGM."
Emerald Queen GM Frank Wright Jr also commented, noting: "We are very excited to be working with BetMGM to bring legal sports betting to sports fans in the Pacific Northwest. As industry leaders, EQC and BetMGM are two entertainment powerhouses, and combined we will deliver the ultimate fan experience in sports betting."
