Evolution to Purchase DigiWheel

Online betting software group Evolution announced that they're purchasing fellow gaming group DigiWheel for €1 million.

DigiWheel has produced physical gaming wheels that have an HD screen on them, and Evolution seems to think there's utility for them in their gaming lineup. The agreement will see Evolution paying cash for the company while also integrating into the Evolution umbrella, where they'll have their own brand. The wheels will also be worked into new Evolution game shows and casino games.

This is the latest purchase for Evolution, who also owns Red Tiger, Ezugi, Big Time Gaming, and NetEnt.

Commenting on the deal Evolution CEO Martin Carlesund said, "We are always looking out for interesting technology and have been impressed by what DigiWheel have developed. I am delighted we have reached this agreement. DigiWheel is an excellent fit with Evolution's product offering. We have had successes with wheel games and, of course, we are committed to creating the most immersive and exciting gaming experiences available in online casino."

DigiWheel CEO John Purcell also commented, noting: "This announcement gives all of us at DigiWheel a great deal of satisfaction. For almost 9 years our team have worked tirelessly to create a standout product that is a unique, one-of-a-kind digital gaming innovation. This deal will see our unique products and technology brought into the Evolution Group and exposed to an even wider global audience of operators and players, which is enormously exciting."

It's safe to say that Evolution is not stopping on buying companies. Last year it was Red Tiger, then Netent, Big Time Gaming and now this. What are they planning on purchasing next?

I've seen the DigiWheel in person. It's actually pretty cool. They must have had a patent on it or something, hence the purchase. Surprised it was for such a small amount, though.
