American betting group DraftKings has announced that they're partnering with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and will be opening up a sportsbook at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut on September 30th.

The deal will see the book launching six months after the tribe's compact with the state was signed. The Mohegans also have a similar compact with the state, and both groups will be allowed to offer online sportsbetting as well. The book launches tomorrow at the casino, while online casino is expected to launch in October.

DraftKings has been working hard to become the largest online sportsbetting brand in the United States. The company has invested millions on advertising and sponsorships, and the numbers are beginning to show that the effort is bearing fruit.

Commenting on the agreement Mashantucket Pequot Chairman Rodney Butler said, "Today we celebrate a new era for our Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, sports fans, Foxwoods guests and Connecticut residents. We thank Governor Lamont and his administration, regulators, and the many lawmakers who helped pave the way for legal sports betting and expanded gaming in the state.

"Their collaboration and hard work has allowed trusted gaming operators like our Tribe and DraftKings to help lead innovation across Connecticut. With NFL season in full force, it's game on, and we look forward to a successful launch."

DraftKings Co-Founder Matt Kalish added: "We're thrilled to join the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in bringing a holistic and delightful sports betting experience for customers in Connecticut.

"By leveraging the Tribe's expertise in developing and operating one of the largest resort casinos in the world, we are excited to bring new offerings for consumers in The Constitution State."
