Penn National Gaming Opens Hollywood Casino York

Penn National Casino's Hollywood Casino York is having its grand opening, with the $120 million site opening up for wagering at noon today.

The opening will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will feature a number of politicians, locals, and gaming officials. The new casino will offer more than 500 slot machines, 24 gaming tables, and a retail Barstool Sportsbook, the first that is open in the Keystone State.In all, the gaming floor space of the casino will have 80,000 square feet of space, making it a decent-sized betting destination. It will also host 290 people for permanent work, and it created 230 construction jobs during the building phase.

Commenting on the launch Penn National EVP of Operations Todd George said, "We would like to officially welcome players and guests to Hollywood Casino York. We're thrilled to be opening our 43rd property in North America, our third in the Commonwealth, and showcasing Hollywood Casino York's unique style of premier gaming, dining and entertainment in a truly modern atmosphere. Importantly, it has been an honor to be welcomed by Springettsbury Township and the surrounding communities, creating new jobs and starting a new economic engine right here in York County."

The casino is now open and is open 24 hours a day on Friday and Saturday, and has operating hours for the other five days of the week.
