Hard Rock Casino Rockford Will Open Temporary Casino

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

Hard Rock Casino in Rockford, Illinois is planning to open a temporary casino in October of this year while the more permanent location is undergoing construction.

The announcement of the temporary casino was made at a vendor fair this week, which itself gave local businesses the chance to learn about the Hard Rock's business model and where there may be the opportunity to work with the betting giant. The casino did reveal that the Illinois Gaming Board is in the process of approving of the casino's directors and executives to get gaming licenses and the ability to work with suppliers, which is key in getting started on the permanent property.

After different regulatory approvals are given, the temporary site can get cranking, and would be subject to inspections by state officials before getting to open its doors.

Right now the permanent Hard Rock is still in the planning stages, as blueprints haven't been submitted to the state or city for approval at this point.

We're following the upcoming launch and will be updating readers as we learn more.
