Nagasaki Casino Planned

This week it was revealed that corporate group NIKI Chayau Fwu Group has submitted a plan to develop a casino in the Nagasaki prefecture in Japan.

The development would be located in Sasebo City, and would include gaming facilities, resort accommodations, shopping, and dining facilities as well. It comes as part of the bidding process that's being overseen by the prefecture, and there are two competing companies also looking for approval to build a casino property (Casino Austria and Oshidori Consortium).

Commenting on the proposal NIKI Chyau Fwu representative Etsuko Oishi said, "We have planned and designed a world-class integrated resort for Nagasaki. We intend to attract premium tourists to Kyushu, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy and becoming a major IR in the Asia region. We look forward to working with local communities and local governments in the process to bring a world-leading facility to the region.

"The NIKI Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group is leading a consortium of which Japanese companies make up the majority, but includes companies from various countries alongside local Kyushu companies. Further, it includes a large number of world-leading overseas partners, including major IR operators."

The three competing candidates will present their ideas in August with a decision being made that same month.
