This week the Hollywood Casino Baton Rogue filed an application seeking permission to allow it to move onto land from its existing riverboat setup.
The permit was filed on the casino's behalf by CPL Architecture, Engineering & Planning of Woodstock, Georgia. The casino's gaming floor space would expand up to 106,209 square feet and would be an extension of the current dockside facility. The game numbers would remain the same, with 12 table games and 859 slots on offer.
The property is expected to cost between $21 million and $25 million to complete and would also add a sports bar and a Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken Restaurant. A possibility of converting the sports bar to a sportsbook if the casino gets a license to offer the activity.
We're following the story and will be updating readers as we learn more.
