Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been fined €50,000 by UEFA due to his involvement with gaming operator Bethard.
Ibrahimovic was charged with breaching Article 12(2)(b) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations due to his stake in the Malta-licensed Bethard. He could have been banned from the sport for three years, but managed to avoid that (albeit with a stiff financial penalty). In addition, Ibrahimovic must divest himself of his interest in Bethard moving forward.
The AC Milan striker became a Bethard partner in 2018 and was reported by the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet earlier in the year. He currently holds a 10% stake in the business, although that likely won't be for much longer.
Ibrahimovic is signed with Milan until the end of next year.

Oh wow, this is interesting. Definitely a fine like this is much better than not being able to play sports for several years.
I'm surprised his agent or whoever let him get in on this knowing it had to likely be a no-no with UEFA. I don't blame him. I blame his management or agent.
Bear in mind that he is 39 years of age, which is ancient for a professional footballer. Banning him for 3 years wouldn't achieve much as he won't be playing for much longer.
