Finnish gaming operator Veikkaus has announced that they're reopening slots in the Kainuu region after Covid-19 restrictions were lifted in the area.
The company was forced to close the machines on January 13th due to rising cases in the region. Things have calmed down a bit, and the government has eased some of the restrictions. This means that gambling machines and gambling halls in the area are permitted to reopen as of February 11th.
Veikkaus made news recently when they began requiring ID to play slots in an effort to reduce problem gambling harm in the country. The ID requirement lets players track their play more, giving punters more control over their activity.
