Switzerland's Lottery and Betting Board has changed its name from Comlot to Gespa, updating the brand for the new year.

The change came into effect on January 1st and will work to ensure that players partake in licensed and regulated casinos, lotteries, and sportsbooks. The group will also be in charge of maintaining the country's blacklist of unlicensed sites that are offering services within Switzerland.

Switzerland has legalized and regulated online betting through the Federal Act on Real-Money Gaming, and the activity is starting to gain a real foothold in terms of generating revenue for casinos and tax revenues for good causes in the country.
