American betting and resort company Hard Rock International has purchased the gaming license from The Ritz Club casino in London, potentially paving the way for a Hard Rock property in the city.
The Ritz Club closed in March after the first UK lockdown related to the Covid-19 pandemic, and Hard Rock jumped on the ball to pick up the license. The company's goal is to be able to open a different property in London. It already has three Hard Rock Cafe locations in London as well as one Hard Rock Hotel, so expanding to offer a casino should bring with it some name recognition.
Commenting on the purchase Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen said, "We look forward to expanding our brand offerings within London and bringing our award-winning hospitality, gaming and entertainment to the birthplace of Hard Rock."
No details on the potential property was available as of press time.
