StarGames to Apply for German License

This story was published more than 2 years ago.

Online casino StarGames is applying for a German gaming license with the goal of entering the real-money market when it launches next year.

The casino is owned by Greentube, a Novomatic subsidiary, and comes as the group already is live in the state of Schleswig-Holstein where online gaming is legal. Because of this experience, the company believes it has what it takes to operate legally in the rest of Germany. The company is already taking steps to put into place social responsibility rules such as time limits, cutting autoplay, and progressive jackpots from their games. Additional Tolerance Policy guidelines are also being worked to be complied with.

Online betting is slated to go live in July 2021 becoming the latest European country to join in the regulated industry. There are already several big names working to get in on the action, and the market is ramping up with activity ahead of the launch.
