Shots Were Fired at Circus Circus Last Weekend

Visitors at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino were evacuated this past weekend after shots were fired at the Adventuredome entertainment center.

The shots were fired at about 7:30 pm on Saturday and saw two groups fighting, resulting in the gunfire. Three people were wounded and were taken to the hospital. The Adventuredome is a family entertainment center attached to the casino and hotel, complete with rollercoasters, arcades, and circus acts.

Police have already arrested a person of interest in the shooting, as there was a bevy of officers on the Las Vegas Strip this past weekend.

Speaking to TV station KLAS a Circus Circus visitor said, "We had left to go to dinner. And then we came back… I saw people in tears, crying. This should be a family area, where all these kids play. And to know that people are out there just killing people - it's not OK."

Las Vegas has been struggling to bring in visitors due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and violence does nothing but deter the city from rebounding. To that end, there have been reports that violent crimes are up 30% this year, a concerning number for a city so highly dependent on tourism.
