Online sportsbetting giant DraftKings has announced that they've signed a partnership deal with the NBA's Detroit Pistons and will become the team's Official Daily Fantasy Sports Partner in addition to an Official Sports Betting and iGaming Partner.
The agreement will see DraftKings getting marketing opportunities at Little Caesars Arena as well as with the team's online channels. Additionally, the company will get the chance to offer VIP prize packages, tickets, and locker room tours to fans of the team. DraftKings is live in Michigan as a daily fantasy service, and will be launching as a sportsbook and online casino as soon as regulators approve of the activity.
Commenting on the deal DraftKings CBO Ezra Kucharz said, "As our first professional team activation in the state of Michigan, we are thrilled to join forces with the Detroit Pistons ahead of our pending market introduction. This deal deepens our relationship with a prominent local team to facilitate more immersive fan experiences, both for Michiganders familiar with regulated gaming products as well as newcomers to the space."
Pistons CBO Mike Zavodsky added: "We appreciate the partnership-minded and collaborative approach that DraftKings brings to the table. We look forward to utilizing our platform to help DraftKings grow their presence and connectivity to Pistons fans and to the greater Metro Detroit communities."
The NBA season is set to kick-off pre-season games on December 11th, with the regular season slated to begin around December 25th.
