Sportsbetting operator Betsafe has announced that they've come to terms with eSports team Godsent and will become the group's sponsor for the next three years.

The deal will see Betsafe become the team's Exclusive Betting Partner, focusing on the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team. Betsafe will gain exclusive marketing rights, with collaboration on social media and branding opportunities for the operator. eSports is continuing to grow as a valuable betting vertical, as millions watch others compete in video games around the globe. The Betsson subsidiary knows this, and they're keen on locking up deals that can get their name out to a demographic that typically don't bet on traditional sports.

Commenting on the deal Betsson Head of Marketing Kim Ekelund said, "Esports has been gaining a lot of momentum in the past couple of years and the global pandemic has further cemented its place. With all major sporting competitions being postponed during spring, more attention was directed towards esports, adding to its mainstream appeal."

"For this sponsorship we chose Betsafe, one of our most adventurous and sportive brands. Going forward, I believe there's still a lot of progress to be made in the esports arena and this sponsorship between ambitious GODSENT and Betsafe is a concrete example of our commitment towards the future of esports."
