2021 Australian Poker Millions Postponed

This week it was announced that the 2021 Australian Poker Millions has been postponed indefinitely as Australia continues to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event was cautioned out of an abundance of caution, as the country has seen cases kept largely in check when compared to other countries. Because the tournament draws in players from around the world. Despite working to figure out a solution, the safety of workers and players couldn't be ensured and the decision was made to postpone the tournament.

A tournament spokesperson commented on the decision, noting: "We have been working for some time with the Victorian Government and health authorities to determine how we can safely re-open Crown Melbourne and have developed extensive physical distancing and hygiene measures to allow re-opening in a safe manner. We are pleased to be able to commence the process of welcoming back our employees and customers to Crown Melbourne."

Thus far there's no indication as to whether or not the 2022 tournament will be taking place.
