SkyCity Auckland to Reopen at Full Capacity

Today it was revealed that the SkyCity Auckland casino will fully reopen this week after having been restricted for two months due to Covid-19 restrictions within the city.

The move will come as the government of New Zealand eases restrictions in the country's largest city, effective October 7th at 11:59pm. This will allow SkyCity to operate without capacity limitations, although wearing masks and social distancing is going to be encouraged.

SkyCity had reopened a few months ago, but was subject to restrictions of having 100 people in the casino at any given time, and had to shut for two weeks in August when the city had a three-day lockdown due to an outbreak of the virus.

We'll see how long the opening stays in place, although New Zealand has some of the lowest Covid infections and deaths throughout the world.
