American sportsbetting group DraftKings has announced that they've partnered with Peermont Hotels, Gaming and Resorts to launch a sportsbook in South Africa.
The book will be live at the PalaceBet.co.za website and will provide wagers on sports like rugby, cricket, football, tennis, basketball, and more. DraftKings will power the technology behind that book, as they'll use the software that they acquired earlier this year. The group also committed to implementing features like odds boosts, draw-based games, and bet builders.
Commenting on the deal DraftKings CIO Shay Berka said, "We are delighted that DraftKings' B2B technology is powering Peermont's entry into sports betting, through which they can provide their customers with extensive markets, live betting opportunities, competitive pricing and localised payment options."
PalaceBet's General Manager Iain Gutteridge also noted, "The way we're looking to grow and to compete on an international scale, we knew that DraftKings could offer the software solution so that we could not only offer variety, but quality to our clients."
Right now there's no firm date on the launch of the book.
