The Michigan Gaming Control Board revealed that Detroit's three casinos saw sportsbetting revenues rise 26.8% in September, with numbers hitting $4.4 million in its first full month of activity.
The books officially launched in March but were shut down due to Covid-19 days later. The books and casinos were not permitted to reopen until August 5th, making September the first full month that wagers on sports were open in the Wolverine State.
Detroit's MGM Grand led the way with $2.1 million in revenue, with the MotorCity Casino coming in at $1.6 million, while the Greektown Casino came in at $722,509. Daily fantasy sports revenues totaled $2.3 million in revenues for the casinos during the month.
Taxes for sportsbetting totalled $165,428 to the state, with an additional $202,190 paid to the city of Detroit. DFS taxes paid totaled $189,875 to the state.
