Bank Australia Will Stop Allowing Gambling With Credit Cards

Australian financial group Bank Australia has revealed that from December 1st, customers will not be able to gamble using credit cards issued from the company.

The move will not apply Bank Australia debit cards, but those who leverage credit with the bank will no longer be able to use their plastic to gamble in any manner. The move is a major one within the country, coming after National Australia Bank offered customers the chance to block gambling transactions on their cards.

A Bank Australia statement on the matter read: "Our research shows the majority of our customers believe credit cards should not be used for gambling, and as a customer-owned bank, our customers' opinions are a big part of our decision making."

"Under our Responsible Banking Policy, we don't lend money to the gambling industry including casinos, online gambling operators or businesses that derive revenue directly from poker machines or sports betting. Not authorising gambling on credit cards is an extension of our existing lending policy."

Australia has seen their gambling industry cracked down on in recent years, as the government has forced out most reputable online brands, only to be replaced in the vacuum by many rogue joints that offer poor service and outright scam players. We recommend you stick to a few select sites, which are reliable in terms of payout and customer support. These include BitStarz, WinADay, and 3Dice Casino.
