Sportsbetting group FanDuel has announced that they've become an Official Sponsor of the PGA Tour, gaining exclusive marketing opportunities in the process.
Under the terms of the deal, FanDuel will get rights to advertise within the PGA Tour's platforms, as well as usage of the PGA logo in their own advertising endeavors. The terms on the consideration paid weren't available as of press time.
The sponsorship comes as FanDuel has seen golf wagers growing, becoming the highest handle for betting 9 of the last 12 Sundays. The wagers on golf this year have also already surpassed all of last year, with several events still left to be played.
Commenting on the deal PGA Tour SVP of Media and Gaming Norb Gambuzza said, "We have long admired FanDuel's brand, product and marketing strategies as well as the leadership position it has taken since the legalization of sports betting in 2018. We are excited to bring FanDuel into the PGA TOUR's Official Betting Operator program as we continue to engage new fans in this rapidly growing space."
