Belgium Blacklists Three Gambling Operators

This story was published more than 3 years ago.

Today it was revealed that the Belgian Gambling Commission added three additional betting sites to the list of blacklisted online casinos due to targeting players within the country without a license.

The sites getting the boot are Whitlioncasino.com, Syndicate.casino, and GG.bet. An investigation determined that they were indeed in violation of the country's gambling laws. The trio join a number of other sites that are already blacklisted, including William Hill, 1xBet, and Betfair. Belgium's laws make playing at illegal sites a criminal offense, with fines ranging from €26 to €25,000, while operators can be fined between €100 and €100,000.

In a statement the BGC wrote: "It is prohibited for anyone to operate games of chance without a licence granted by the Gaming Commission. It is also prohibited for anyone to participate in or advertise an illegal game of chance."
