Lightning Box Signs Partnership With Konami

This story was published more than 3 years ago.

Game developer Lightning Box has signed a content agreement with Konami Gaming and will provide various slot machine games to the company for land casino distribution moving forward.

The agreement will see Konami offering Lightning Box's games being provided to land based casinos beginning next year. Not all of the developer's games are included in the deal, as titles need to be certified to be offered in various markets. The Initial slate of games will include Silver Lioness 4x, Eagle Sun, and Chicken Fox being offered at land casinos within the United States.

Lightning Box is looking for a way to expand in the American market. They previously launched their online products in New Jersey, but reaching out to other verticals will help their position as they grow.

"This is another significant deal for us as we continue to expand on three fronts in North America: land-based, online and social," said Lightning Box CEO Peter Causley. "Konami has established a very strong customer base in the US and we're really looking forward to the reaction of casino players, who can now enjoy our games in more places than ever."

Konami Gaming SVP Victor Duarte also commented, noting: "Like us, Lightning Box has a proven track record in the United States, and it made sense to team up with them to deliver more great gaming content on our gaming machines."

I'm so used to seeing Konami as a video game company that it still strikes me as odd after years of being around casino stuff to see that they design slots.

I'd like a Metal Gear Solid slot. Line up five ! symbols to start the jackpot bonus round where you need to take down a Metal Gear in order to win.

Konami should be paying me consulting fees.
