Online betting firm bwin has announced that they've signed on to become the new Sports Betting Partner of the Pro League, Belgium's top soccer league.
The agreement will give bwin the sponsorship title, which comes with the rights to stream matches to customers using their online platforms. There will also be great branding opportunities for the gaming giant, and it's likely we'll see some exclusive Pro League bonuses being offered to customers in the country. The Pro League is the highest tier for soccer, with 16 teams getting set for their first week of action this weekend.
"Each partner is aware of the risks of irresponsible behaviour and is committed to minimising these risks, each in its role," said Pro League General Manager Pierre François. "Bwin, the Pro League and Eleven Sports will commit, within the framework of this partnership, to lead an integrated policy prevention, protection of players and the integrity of football as a whole."
bwin's Steven Cartingy added: "Belgium is a breeding ground for talent that is successfully exported all over the world. As a result, the eyes of the whole world are more and more on our Pro League.
"Together with Eleven Sports, we want to increase interest in Belgian football and we want to present our bwin betting platform to viewers in an [engaging] and responsible manner."
