UKGC May Implement Loss and Stake Limits

UK gambling regulator the UK Gaming Commission announced that they're introducing proposals for betting that would limit the amount of money a punter can bet as well as the amount of money a punter can lose in an attempt to minimize gambling-related harm.

The proposals come as part of the Industry Challenges initiative that was introduced last year, which aims to promote responsible betting and fight addiction. The max bet would be subject to debate, but a limit of as low as £1 per spin is possible. Loss limits could also be custom-tailored to customers based on circumstances, although there's no determination on what that could look like.

Commenting on the matter the Commission said, "In our view, these changes represent some initial tangible actions which are likely to move the debate on at least partially. If delivered within a quick timeframe, these changes would make slots games partially safer for consumers."

Without a doubt, there will be a lot of work needed before any of the proposed changes are brought on board.
