Norwegian gaming group Norsk Tipping announced this week that it had distributed more than NOK5.5 billion from profits to various charities around the country last year.
The amounted donated is up 14.6% from 2018 and saw the likes of sporting organizations, culture, and humanitarian organizations. Health and rehabilitation services got NOK305.7 million, and NOK15 million was donated to problem gambling groups.
Norsk is Norway's betting monopoly, and it oversees all licensed betting aspects in the country.
This number distributed is impressive, given the fact that the Norwegian government took in NOK131 million to help support the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
