Sportsbetting Numbers Fall in Mississippi

The state of Mississippi has announced their sportsbetting numbers for the month of February, indicating that revenue was down 25% from the year prior.

Revenues for the month were $2.1 million, down from $2.8 million generated in 2019 and down 54.4% from January 2020 when $4.6 million was hauled in.

Betting handle was up compared to last year, as wagers hit $34.5 million, up 37.5%, with the state's coastal casinos generating the vast amount of the wagers. $22.5 million was bet on sports at these casinos, up 54.1% from last year and generating revenues of $955,302. The other casinos scattered throughout the state picked up the rest of the total.

No comment from the Mississippi Gaming Commission was available as of press time.
