Betting firm Betfred has announced that they've purchased the database assets of shuttered betting site MoPlay, granting some players at the site the chance to get their money back.
Betfred will be absorbing the player database, taking on all of the debts that the company owes to players. MoPlay shut down after their gaming licenses in Gibraltar and the UK were suspended due to parent company Addison Global's poor financial position. Initially, players were allowed to take out their funds, but MoPlay changed course as they apparently didn't have the money to cover the payouts.
MoPlay is now insolvent and a liquidator is now doling out the company's assets to other groups.
Players in the UK and Ireland are able to claim the funds owed to them, and will need to open an account at Betfred to get their money. An email to existing MoPlay customers has been sent out, so players should check their inboxes.
