UKGC Suspends MoPlay License

Today the UK Gambling Commission announced that it was suspending the gaming license of Addison Global, the operator of the sportsbetting site MoPlay.

The suspension will remain in place until the regulator completes an investigation into the company's finances. There have been reports that Addison is facing issues, and may not have the funds to effectively remain in business. These reports claim that Addison Global owes multiple affiliate sites large sums of money for referring players to their site, with one prominent site owed nearly £500,000. It's believed this money has been owed for nearly a year.

The suspension was issued under Section 120(1)(b) of the Gambling Act.

A representative of Addison Global said that the company is working with the former executive team to resolve the issues, while noting: "We are also liaising regularly with the UK and Gibraltar regulators. In light of license suspensions, we are no longer taking bets, registrations or deposits, however, players can of course withdraw funds."
