Fantasy sports specialist Scout Gaming has announced that they're launching a new Fantasy Football (soccer) tournament in Europe, bringing a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000 to players.
The top prize in the tournament will be at least €150,000, with the winner taking home that chunk of cheddar. The buy-in for the tournament will be a hefty €1,100, but satellite competitions will give players the chance to qualify for as little as €1. There will be 1,000 seats in the tournament, meaning that the minimum prize pool could swell up to €1,000,000. The event will take place with the game weeks 37 and 38 and feature players from the Premier League.
Scout Gaming provides their products to online operators, providing competitions with a variety of buy-ins and different sports from around the world. Fantasy sports work by having a player build a roster with a set amount of money. Better players cost more, and points are accumulated based on performance.
The competition will be open across Scout's network of customers.

This sounds like a cool concept! To be honest I haven't heard much of the company before nor am I a fantasy game fan, but I'm sure that many players will be excited to take part.
