BGC Accused of Ethics Violations

This story was published more than 4 years ago.

This week a small firestorm erupted in Belgium as it was revealed that some executives of the Belgian Gaming Commission are being accused of ethics violations.

The Center for Integrity has launched an investigation into the regulator after allegations against executive members were made. Some of these allegations involve accepting gifts from gambling operators, misuse of government funds, and abuse of power. Among those reportedly involved are BGC Director Peter Naessens.

These ethics and legal breaches could potentially have severe consequences for those involved, as Minister of Justice Koen Geens said that he was looking into the report to take appropriate measures if needed.

Apparently these things happen everywhere and not just here as I thought...a month or so ago the local GC chief here was arrested as well...probably a few years too late if ask me but still.
