It has been revealed that Bet365 founder and CEO Denise Coates had a tax bill of £276 million in 2019, the largest tax liability in the whole of the UK for an individual.
Coates had a bill of £113.2 million for her share of Bet365's corporate tax bills as well as £130 million in taxes from her own £276.6 million income. Coates also is the owner of Stoke City FC, and she's certainly doing okay, as she ranks as the wealthiest woman in the UK.
Other prominent names with large tax bills include JK Rowling (£48.6 million), Stephen Rubin (£143.9 million), and singer Ed Sheeran (£4.5 million).
The numbers are tabulated using publicly available information, using corporate tax, capital gains tax, income tax, payroll taxes, and dividend taxes.

Geez, their taxes per year are more than most people would make in a Lifetime, these people should spread the wealth. So many people want to drop bombs, why not throw their tax contributions into a airplane and drop money on people instead lol.

Blimey! She would probably say that she is spreading the wealth by paying those taxes. Obviously we don't know exactly how her wealth is squirrelled away but with a tax bill that large at least it means she is declaring a significant amount of income in the UK where she lives instead of hiding behind offshore shell corporations to avoid paying anything, like most others of similar means.

That's a good point you make there Ed, all her taxes she has paid is done so in honesty it seems. With that much going back into the country, everybody there benefits from it. They should throw it in their healthcare or education.

Yeah, in the States she'd have that money going to the Caribbean for a holding company to hide numbers. Good to see it being paid.
I'm even stunned she's not situated in the very near Monaco or some of the offshore heavens out there, to be honest looks even a bit stupid that but credit to her for being a loyal tax payer in UK I guess.
