Australia Blocks Nine More Offshore Casinos

This story was published more than 4 years ago.

Australia's Communications and Media Authority has published a notice that nine offshore betting sites are to be blocked by internet service providers because they violate the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.

The casinos set to be blocked in the notice are Roo Casino, GW Casino, Wager Beat, Joe Fortune, Ignition Casino, Casino Dingo, AU Slots, Top Bet and XBet, all of which are owned by companies located offshore. The sites all offer casino services to Aussie punters, and the regulator said that they've received more than 79 complaints regarding the sites, causing them to take action.

This isn't the first time that the ACMA has acted to block offshore gaming sites. Last year the regulator barred Emu Casino and Fair Go Casino from operating in the country, the first slate of sites to be ISP blacklisted in Oz.
