BetEasy Signs Deal With AFL

This story was published more than 4 years ago.

Today it was announced that betting group BetEasy has signed a partnership deal with the Australian Football League, which will see the two working together for the next five years.

The deal is worth €4.9 million annually, and will see BetEasy getting the ability to market their partnership with the AFL, including using the logo. The company will also be able to market exclusive promotions featuring the league. The deal will potentially be re-upped annually for the next five years, as long as both groups agree to continue the relationship.

There are critics of the deal, with Alliance for Gambling Reform spokesman Tim Costello said, "The AFL will abandon their right to moral leadership in the community. These ads groom our kids to become addicts and exploit their love of their football heroes."

It's a maybe stance...kind of expected from a group called Alliance for Gambling Reform but if there's have to be gambling adds let at least the decent operators have it...not a shady ones...
