Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino Slapped for Underage Gambling

This story was published more than 3 years ago.

This week it was revealed that the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino was fined $20,000 for allowing underage gambling at their Iowa facility.

The fine was for $20,000 after it was revealed that a 19 year old was allowed onto the gambling floor for over an hour, where he gambled and consumed alcohol. The minimum age for gambling and consuming alcohol in Iowa is 21. The fine isn't the first for the casino, which was fined in July of last year for allowing a 20 year old to do the exact same thing. The fine for that violation was also $20,000.

No comment from the casino or the Iowa Racing and Gambling Commission was available as of press time.
