Harrah's and Horseshoe Council Bluffs Launches Sportsbook

The Harrah's and Horseshoe Council Bluffs casino in Iowa has launched their new sportsbook, which they've appropriately named "The Book".

The room will allow punters to put in bets on various sporting events from around the world, and the casino will be heavily promoting it by inviting celebrities and athletes to stop by to promote. The book will be powered by Scientific Games, whose OpenSports platform will provide the interface for placing bets and getting slips.

Sportsbetting was recently legalized in Iowa, with lawmakers allowing casinos and racetracks to offer wagers to players. The first few of these locations offering the activity are now going live, and it's likely that we'll see more spots popping up in the coming months, especially as football season gets underway.
