Three men were given a year-long jail sentence after they were found guilty of organizing a gambling game in a public space.
The men are foreign nationals and were spotted by a police patrol of operating a street game in the Naif region of Dubai. The men were taking bets of between Dh100 and Dh500 and were reportedly rigging the games to cheat players.
Speaking about the crime a policeman on the scene said, "When we checked, we found out that they were cheating and all the betters had lost their money."
"Each one of them had a specific role: one lured people, another played the cards, and the third claimed to be a winning player to encourage other men to participate."
The men were fined a total of Dh100,000, in addition to the prison sentence. After the sentence is completed, the men will be deported to their home countries. Two of the men hail from Pakistan, while the third is from India.

So that's the way to fight those street cheaters isn't it.
The sentence has to be pretty severe to prevent this from happening in future...I think the local authorities done quite well in that regard.
I wonder what jail is like over there. I also imagine it’s different for common people and the royalty, right?
