Internet betting group Unibet has signed a sponsorship deal that will see its logo appearing on the shirts of Belgian First Division A team Club Brugge.
The deal will be good through the 2019-2020 season, with Unibet's logo appearing on the front of the team's shirts. The company had previously stood as a sleeve sponsor but has stepped up to a more lucrative position. The agreement will also include additional marketing opportunities for Unibet, including the chance to provide match data and provide exclusive promotions for fans.
Kindred Global Head of Sponsorships Timothy Mastelinck spoke about the deal, noting: "Just like Club Brugge, we are the market leader in our sector, we share the same values and we are driven by a passion for sportsmanship.
"Fair play is not only one of the most important pillars of modern football; it's also a key factor for Unibet. After all, we want to offer our customers a safe, secure and joyful gambling experience and ensure they are aware of their gambling behaviour so they can play responsibly.
"Thanks to our collaboration with Club Brugge, we can better highlight this message."
Club Brugge COO Bob Madou added: "In the past few years, there has been a lot of interest from the sports betting industry to partner up with Club Brugge. Unibet is one of the biggest gambling companies and is fully licensed by the Gaming Commission. They are one of the strongest advocates of responsible gambling and have a clear link with sports."
