Google Okays New Jersey Sportsbetting Ads

This story was published more than 5 years ago.

Search engine group Google Ads has approved of the publication of ads from New Jersey sportsbetting operators, easing into a market for online operators that could help boost wagers.

Licensed operators in the Garden State can now set ad campaigns, targeting those looking to get in with sports wagers. The scene is extremely competitive and will likely see PPC rates skyrocket, greatly benefiting Google in the process. The move comes as Google has notoriously been anti-gambling, going so far as to block advertising for the activity in certain jurisdictions.

Google is easing into the area though, working in regulated areas and making sure that only specific customers are targeted.

We're going to be keeping an eye on how Google develops their ad strategy in this market and will update readers as we learn more.
