Betway and Bet365 Head to Argentina

This story was published more than 4 years ago.

Online betting groups Betway and Bet365 have entered the Argentinian gaming market after signing with local land-based groups, allowing the groups to offer services to punters in the region.

Argentina is looking to become a player in internet betting, and with the likes of Bet365 and Betway, they're on the way to doing just that. Betway is working with locally-owned Bingo King, while Bet365 is working with Pasteko. Codere's Latin American arm is working with Iberargen, and will now be able to offer casino games, bingo, and more to gamblers.

The government of Argentina is awarding 15-year gaming licenses to companies, which will give operators the chance to earn healthy profits as they won't have to be re-upping their license every few years. The country has posted a 25% tax on GGR, which is heavy, but given the long licenses, isn't as much a hurdle as it may seem.

No timetable for launches was available as of press time.
