Bet365 Branded Booger Sugar Seized By Russian Authorities

This story was published more than 4 years ago.

Apparently, there's a drug maker that has a fancy for gambling, as Russian authorities seized hundreds of bricks of cocaine adorned with bet365's logo.

The Russian Federal Customs Service revealed that they seized 400 kilograms of cocaine at the shipping port in St. Petersburg. The shipment originated from Ecuador, and was stored in a shipping container. The bricks had bet365's logo printed on the outside and were stamped with the word "BET" on the actual coke itself.

Bet365 has been working to establish a sportsbetting foothold in Russia, and it's not known whether incidents like this will have any impact on them. Right now, Russian authorities are working to see who in the country was expecting the shipment so that they can break up the ring.

With some of the crazy names they have for casinos, I could think of some crazy names for cocaine brands.

"Gimmie some of that Red Stag."

Well...I guess from bet365 won't be too exited hearing that news especially in a times when they try to establish the brand there but obviously they have nothing to do with it and like they say there's no bad publicity...not sure it's valid aboout this one though.

That for sure won't have any negative impact on Bet365. It's hard to tie anything like that to a big successful brand)

Agreed, xtober. There's no way they're going to reap anything bad from this. It'd be a hell of a comp offer though!
