English Premier League club Aston Villa has signed online betting group W88 to a sponsorship deal and will feature the company's logo on their shirts for the upcoming season.
The agreement is good for one season and will see the recently promoted club wearing the shirts for both home and away matches. The terms of the deal weren't discussed. W88 had previously held a similar deal with the Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the club cut ties in order to sign an agreement with ManBetX.
Commenting on the agreement Aston Villa CCO Nicola Ibbetson said, "This is a record-breaking commercial partnership for the club, our promotion to the Premier League offers our club partners a global platform to reach our worldwide fan base."
W88 Business Development Manager Hilly Ehrlich added: "We look forward to engaging with the fans, players and club management in the coming months. W88 is a renowned online gaming brand with a significant member base.
"The brand represents trust and integrity with sports, namely soccer, at its core."
