A gambler who won big last year lost big THIS year as he placed a $1.5 million wager on the Los Angeles Rams to win Super Bowl LIII, making him a colossal loser (even if we're still jealous that he won all that money last year).
The punter took and placed a $1.5 million wager on the Rams to win the game at +120. The bet would have paid out $1.8 million if he won, but it was not meant to be, as the Patriots won a defensive game 13-3, scoring twice in the last eight minutes of the game.
While the loss was a big one for the gambler, he reportedly won $10 million on the Patriots-Eagles Super Bowl matchup in 2018, with $7.4 million placed on different money lines for the event. He also won big during the 2017 World Series, cleaning out books in Las Vegas.
Betting on the Super Bowl is always big business around the world, especially in the United States, where billions is wagered both legally and illegally. The activity will become even more widespread as more states legalize the activity.
We'll be informing readers as we learn more about the crazy bets placed by punters for this year's big game.

Well I'm not going to regret a guy who can afford that bet at first place.
When we see how much money he had bet at last year's Superbowl it's obvious that he could afford to loose even more than those $1,5 mill he had lost now.
That's a huge wager just to potentially take home a $300k win. What an idiot!
From the title, I thought that it was a sad news about this punter 🙂
I think that I can still congratulate on his wins in the past.
I believe he would of get 1,8mill profit for his 1,5mill stake, the odds for Rams wasn't that low.
But he had lost it anyway.
WOW, just to have that kind of money to be throwing down on one game like that would be so very welcome in my world lol money's obviously not a factor for this guy, sounds like hes merely just trying to add some extra excitement to his life .

Ouch, that is quite a big bet to lose. And I can agree with others, with only so relatively small win to get, it doesn't seem worth risking.
I don't think he doesn't care about his stack Chris,I just think he can afford to loose such sum.
For example I could live with a $150 loss, you probably could swallow a $1500 dropping and the guy just probably operates on another dimension, being a multi millionaire or billionaire so probably just an average stake for him.
But that doesn't mean he's not frustrated about it...I guess.
That was my initial thought too, Reckless Bets, gotta be a bigger upside than that for such a large bet.
That makes more sense. I guess he's got to get his thrills where he can - bit sad to think that you have to go to such extremes to get a buzz when you have that amount of wealth.
Man, I feel like a winner when my kids put their dishes into the dishwasher!! And there's no monetary investment required (just loads of shouting and nagging!) 😀

In my mind the gambler is always a gambler klaw..no matter the size of his/hers wealth I guess,...sad..yeah I guess you have a good point from a certain perspective there.
Ha-ha...good luck with that! 😜
Dustin, is there an estimate on how much $$ is bet on the superbowl each year? My son and I were speculating and wondering this last Sunday. Just curious.

Some people thinks that professional bettors should win every bet. But its not truth. They have a goal to win just a little bit over 50% . Today he lost million, but for him its just one lose but for the press its a STORY because its SUPERBOWL
That's true mate but in fact we don't know if this guy (or a girl) is a professional bettor or just a splendidly rich person who's making this stakes for fun...not sure!
