Malta Suspends Betixx, Pulls Bet Service Group License

This story was published more than 5 years ago.

This week Malta's gaming regulator, the Malta Gaming Authority, suspended the gaming license of sportsbetting firm Betixx and rescinded the licenses of Bet Service Group and World-of-bets.eu, giving the firms a major black eye in terms of credibility.

Betixx had their license suspended, and has been ordered not to conduct operations until an investigation is completed. The company has also been ordered to submit data to help that investigation. World-of-bets.eu and Bet Service Group have had their licenses fully revoked, meaning that they are supposed to halt all operations immediately, including all domains that operate under their umbrellas.

The MGA is notoriously tight-lipped regarding their investigations, so its unlikely that we'll end up finding out the exact reasons as to why the action was taken. The sites could potentially continue operating without a Maltese license, so punters are advised to take caution before depositing with any of these groups.

Any punters who have outstanding payments can contact the MGA while providing name, addresses, phone numbers, copies of passports, usernames, and a screenshot of their balance in order to get support.
