Swedish casino game developer Yggdrasil Gaming announced that they've signed a content deal with XSG and will enter the Taiwanese market as a result.
The agreement will see Yggdrasil's games being offered on the website 08Online, which is a social gaming site that doesn't allow for real money play. With the launch, Yggdrasil enters another market, and one that is potentially lucrative, as more than 25 million people live on the island. As of press time, it appears that Yggdrasil's titles are on the site, as we spotted a section on the site that indicates they are available (we don't speak Mandarin, and the site wouldn't translate).
Yggdrasil has been working on expanding their presence over the last year or so, signing multiple content deals and working to enter new markets through operator agreements.
Commenting on the agreement Yggdrasil Gaming CEO Fredrik Elmqvist remarked: "This deal marks Yggdrasil's first entry into Taiwan and it is a pleasure to have partnered with the territory's leading social gaming operator. XSG's 08-online platform has both a leading reputation and a loyal player base, and we are certain our games will prove popular. Taiwan also provides Yggdrasil with an excellent base from which to observe developments in the broader Asian market."
XSG's CEO Stanley Ku added: "To be the first operator to bring Yggdrasil's fantastic casino slots content to Taiwan is an affirmation of XSG's track record and business development capabilities. It also speaks about the present state of Taiwan's gaming market, which is now mature enough to start garnering attention worldwide. As with this agreement with Yggdrasil, XSG will continue to bring the best content from across the globe to ensure Taiwanese players experience a truly world-class gaming offering."

Ah, ok, I finally understand what social gaming is, huh.
I really wonder about the deals between casino software and casinos.
It seems to me like there is a lot of merging with companies and providers these days. Is it just me or does it seem like that side of things have been overly busy ?
